Delegate Programme 2025: Panel Discussions & Workshop

This year’s Delegate Programme features three in-depth Panel Discussions and one practical Workshop.

Panel Discussions

1. From Vision to Legacy: A Chat With the Directors Who Shaped the Festival & Documentary Screening
About: Bringing together the original thinkers and creators behind the festival, this discussion follows a special screening of the documentary piece produced to celebrate 10 years of the festival.

2. Stages of Belonging: Rethinking Representation and Inclusion in Malta’s Theatre
About: This panel aims to bring timely and meaningful insights, especially given the festival’s focus on young audiences and community engagement. The discussion aims to raise awareness and encourage more inclusive programming within ŻiguŻajg and beyond. Foster collaborations across sectors (youth work, education, community organisations)

3. Creative Rights: How the Arts Can Champion Children’s Voices
About: The Commissioner for Children in Malta plays a vital role in protecting and promoting the rights of children. The ŻiguŻajg Festival, as a national platform for young audiences, is the perfect space to explore how children’s rights and the arts intersect.

Workshop

Producing Without Borders: What It Takes to Create Outstanding and Lasting Work in the Arts, hosted by Senior Producer, Pamela Walker who has over 20 years of experience as an arts producer and has been with Imaginate, the Edinburgh International Children’s Festival since 2016, and Producer, Sarah Gray from Scottish Theatre Producers who’s been in the business since 2005.

Target Audience: Emerging and mid-career producers, creatives, and cultural managers.

About: This interactive session explores the fundamentals of producing powerful, high-impact work in any context, from script to festivals.

Focus: It will highlight what remains constant across borders (vision, structure, ethics) and what needs to adapt (cultural, logistical, financial differences).
