The Summer Art Bootcamp will be made up of 6 art workshops introducing contemporary art to young people.
Throughout the six sessions, participants will journey through three key themes in art; The Self and Identity, Space and Place, and Emotion. They will be exposed to local and international artists who express these themes in their work, throughout history and in contemporary art. Participants will discuss and learn about the themes and artists through games and activities led by the tutor. They will then create their own artwork, using a variety of media and techniques. The session will be guided by Maria Borg, a local artist and educator.
Maria has nearly a decade of experience in teaching, she started her career in the primary sector and is currently teaching in the secondary sector. She is also a practicing artist, having had two solo exhibitions in 2021. In this bootcamp participants will be guided by Maria in having an active part in the creation, not only of their own work, but of the final group exhibition, which will be an opportunity to share their work with the public.
Il-bootcamp tas-sajf se jkun magħmul minn 6 workshops tal-arti li jintroduċu l-arti kontemporanja lit-tfal.
Matul is-sitt sessjonijiet, il-parteċipanti se jesploraw tlett temi important fl-arti; l-Identità, l-Ispazju u l-Post, u l-Emozzjoni. Se jkunu esposti għal artisti lokali u internazzjonali li jesprimu dawn it-temi fix-xogħol tagħhom, matul l-istorja, kif ukoll fl-arti kontemporanja. Il-parteċipanti se jiddiskutu u jitgħallmu dwar it-temi u l-artisti permezz ta’ logħob u attivitajiet. Imbagħad se joħolqu l-arti tagħhom stess, bl-użu ta’ materja. Is-sessjonijiet se jkunu immexxija minn Maria Borg, artista u għalliema lokali.
Maria għandha kważi għaxar snin esperjenza fit-tagħlim; bdiet il-karriera tagħha fis-settur tal-primarja u bħalissa qed tgħallem fis-settur tas-sekondarja. Hija wkoll artista attiva li kellha żewġ wirjiet fl-2021. F’dan il-bootcamp il-parteċipanti se jkunu ggwidati minn Maria sabiex jkollhom parti attiva fil-ħolqien, mhux biss tax-xogħol tagħhom stess, iżda tal-wirja finali tal-grupp wkoll. Il-Wirja se tkun opportunità biex jaqsmu x-xogħol tagħhom mal-pubbliku.
